Some days feel destined to be remembered forever. Mariana and Thiago’s Vintage House Douro Wedding was exactly that kind of day, one that unfolded slowly along the curves of the Douro River, surrounded by vineyards, golden light and the timeless beauty of the Douro Valley.

The celebration took place at The Vintage House, right in the heart of the Douro Valley, one of the most iconic landscapes in Portugal. There is something symbolic about beginning a marriage here, in a place where centuries of winemaking tradition flow alongside the river. In many ways, it felt like the perfect setting for a couple starting their life together, rooted in history while looking toward the future.

From the very beginning, Mariana and Thiago imagined a wedding that felt both personal and refined. They chose a hybrid photography coverage, blending analog film and digital photography, something that reflected the spirit of the day perfectly. Months earlier they had already invited us to photograph their engagement session in London, which made documenting their wedding feel like the continuation of a story that had already begun.

As the day unfolded, the atmosphere slowly shifted from an elegant ceremony to a vibrant celebration. Inspired by the glamour of the Gatsby era, the reception carried a vintage spirit that felt sophisticated yet relaxed. Guests toasted with a rare bottle of Port wine from the year the couple was born, an intimate and meaningful detail that brought everyone together. Later in the evening Cuban cigars appeared, laughter filled the terrace and the celebration carried on late into the night.

What truly defined this Douro Valley wedding was the way Mariana and Thiago embraced every moment. They trusted the process, allowed space for spontaneity and fully shared the experience with their guests. They gave themselves completely to the day.

Behind the scenes, everything flowed beautifully thanks to Romã Events, the wedding planner for the day. Rute and her team orchestrated the entire experience with elegance and care, creating an event that felt intimate while maintaining a refined and luxurious atmosphere. Every detail was thoughtfully curated and the entire day moved with a natural rhythm.
